It would actually be illegal of her to NOT tell them that she is a part of something similar at the moment. It makes it not possible for her to be impartial which is the whole point of jury duty. 
Like if she hadn't mentioned that she is going through some trial situation right now and still have her opinion on this trial and the law found out, she could be in big trouble.
