Not a hard concept to get your head around.
I'm not watching the video again, just watch it yourself.

What new place is it supposed to be? You can't just live in some place for months, be like "I love this place" and then act like something you knew about already while living in that place disturb you. That doesn't meake any sense. She knew how people were, she had time to know about it in a 6 months period (except if she stayed locked at home, which I don't think happened).
I did.
And as I said previously, I have the same feeling as her about Parisians so I get what she says when she says they're cold, because they really are special (which is, by the way, most of the rest of the country's opinion).
Yet, that example she used is terrible because there's nothing wrong with acting this way. There's no such thing as being too polite over a very simple greeting.
There's nothing "patriotic" in my reaction actually, if I react, that's only because this is the way I act with people. Yet, I'm not a parisian and I don't behave the way they do.
