While I think Spotify is petty for this, I'm sure anybody getting a deal with AM is compensated enough so that it doesn't matter.

But the truth is, this is false. Drake is doing amazing, he's the biggest artist on Spotify despite the Apple exclusive. He's featured promptly on playlists.
Spotify can't truly punish an artist. If they're popular they'll have hits regardless.
