A dog who was placed in a utility closet at the groomers because they said he was barking too much died after gallons of chemicals spilled while he was inside, according to his heartbroken owners.
By the time Max was discovered, it was too late. He had chemical burns all over his body, his fur was falling out, and he was foaming at the mouth.
Max -- described by his owners as "the best dog ever" -- died a short time after that.
The couple's lawyer says this is the second time the Shaggy Dog Puppies and Supplies location has been accused of a "negligent dog death.
they placed the dog in a utility closet? they should have called the owners over and tell them to bring him home and bring him back another time if he was really barking too much. that's honestly really tragic and I, a dog owner, am somewhat traumatised reading this alone. I can't imagine watching your dog pass away like that… terrible… R.I.P. to the dog and I hope the owners get justice
You shouldn't be a dog groomer if you can't handle a dog barking, nor if you have chemicals in a place where a dog could possibly get to them. If this had been my dog, heads would be rolling.
RIP to that cute dog. I hope its owners sue the **** out of those awful groomers. They, at the very least, need to lose their jobs.
