Céline in my book is a legendary Artist and her career will stay like , and people who says her songs aren't that influential are crazy , I remember when i was a kid watching my teenage sister back in the 90's stanning for her she was one of her mains with madonna and mariah ! Her music is global that yet to achieve by some of your faves and she is one of the highest paid singer of all time , and that is because her songs relate !

Also no shade girl but in france everyone relate to céline she is the queen , young people listen to her too , it's not about "cool" it's about how beautiful her songs are and how she reminds them of an emotional feeling !

La Francophonie btw spans all continents, so it is a global force. But we all know USA and UK would rather learn german than french, so it is ultimately harder to smash there with foreign language music.

Re-read what I stated. I said "Why is francophone music today only successful in Francophone countries?" That means currently, not albums released in 1995 and 1998, respectively. And my statement mentioned influence, which means to say that because of Celine's success, Francophone music became more widespread and other Francophone artists had significant success outside of Francophone countries. That isn't the case. Which means that Celine did not pave the way for other Francophone artists to have success outside of their country, as that quote suggested.
