Being black is completely different from being a Muslim. Religion is an ideology, a set of views, a set of beliefs that you follow and comply by every day of your life. Following a religion DOES say much about you. Your ideology is quite literally a reflection of your own self and personality. We also have a very clear indication that religious motive is what drove this man to commit such horrible act.
I have met thousands, lived with tens, worked with hundreds and went to school with hundreds. I also currently live in a country that's 96% Muslim.

religion is one part of someone's life, to any normal human being it does not 100% consume them. God is someone they look to 5 times a day, then move on with their lives. what I'm saying is that it takes more to make a murderer than just religion, using passages from the Quran that describe events that occurred 1400+ years ago, in a different climate politically, socially, technologically, to justify killing millions of people, that is pure evil. billions of muslims read these passages everyday and takes them as they are, without inclination to actually act these things out because we live in a different world today.
I'm not saying there isnt dangerous and problematic rhetoric in muslim societies, but seeing the word 'muslim' and automatically thinking murderous maniac is factually incorrect and just stupid.
