TBH, KING hasn't served a truly amazing power ballad in awhile. Since 4, IMO.

I Was Bored is basic and cringe-worthy
I Care is overrated basicness

1+1 is the only standout

I guess Heaven can be considered a great ballad, but its kind of forgettable. I don't know why I'm complaining. I hate ballads, so it doesn't really bother me. But I know the vocal-hive miss them.

I Was Here is lyrically bad but it's vocals are really amazing and emotive

I get why people hate it but I think it's actually kinda underrated

To be honest I think her ballads are generally underwhelming, especially the studio versions. She does them much better live.

Um, I think NOT. This "Sandcastles" bashing needs to END. It's flawless and you will all deal.

most of her ballads are too guttural in the studio. yet she serves flawless angelic background vocals on songs like flawless or on songs that aren't her own (HFTW, Pink + White)

She needs to perform a live acoustic performance while playing piano. Literally nobody besides stans know that she can actually play. I bet her ability has increased immensely as well since DWY.

beyonce isn't proficient enough on piano to perform at the level she likes to perform at. i mean even during her ballads she's writhing around and performing. on piano she'd have to be very precise

I love this and it's how i'm referencing to '4' from now on. Like, an ablum that is based on ballads and ONLY 1+1 with it's cheesy 90's feel is worthy it.

1+1 studio version is trash tho.

Most of the ballads post-DIL kind of suck, but "I Miss You" is secure in its position in the top ten of the best songs of her career, IIRC.

1+1 is one of the best songs of her career...studio and live.

i remember when i first heard it....the song was better than anything on IASF.

i prefer Beyonce's ballads and midtempos over any uptempo

We are too spoiled tbh, that we stan someone so good that we think her studio versions are underwhelming because we know she slays them live.

Even Halo in my opinion is basic. I never really understood the hype.

She needs to bring back her clear and light vocals from the DIL era for them to really hit hard.
