Are you OK with artificial insemination?

I want to support it but I read that they pump a woman full of hormones and harvest 10-20 eggs. I'm OK with this.

Then they fertilize the eggs in a lab. I'm OK with this.

Then the mother chooses which embryos she wants to implant. The rest are stored or disposed of. This I'm kinda not OK with because those extra embryos are technically alive and it's cruel to let them sit in a freezer forever or harvest the embryos for stem cells that's like being drugged and having your kidney taken without consent

Maybe I'm missing something. Help?

They are not "technically alive" though, especially when they can't live outside of the mother's womb.

So you're okay with it but your problem lies with the extra embryos they have at the end. Tbh the embryo is no way that far in development so I don't think it really matters. If I remember correctly, the embryos cannot be used recklessly because of rules and regulations already anyways.

Still not in the mother's womb so the embryo wouldn't be able to viable take off in its development which is what he meant. Life may start at conception but as a society we are unsure of what we define as an actual individual still.

The embryos don't have human feelings at that point, as in thoughts, feel pain, etc. as far as we know, so I don't have a problem with the leftover embryos.

If that's what it takes for a woman to become pregnant due to fertility issues or other reasons, then it's worth allowing the woman the gift of a child.

Firstly; are you vegan? If not, why are you placing such a high value on life as a biological process & not by what it means to be human? Cells proliferating in a petri dish are about as human as moss. You're not killing anything conscious or anything that wasn't meant to be. Plus, if the egg is never put in the uterus, it never develops. Your logic makes absolutely no sense & is as if you're either getting mad for the sake of it or you're a troll
