So? Katie Hopkins is dumb, angry and loud as well and she's white.
What people who believe in equality do is look at a person's personality traits and then use words from their vocabulary to describe them (and on ATRL half the time people are joking and/or exaggerating anyway).

Could you please elaborate on how her skin color affects her personality or her acting ''dumb, angry, and loud'' for that matter? I think there are plenty of dumb, angry and loud white people. I think there are plenty of dumb, angry and loud black people. Not sure how you came to that conclusion, but I guess so.

What part of "lowest common denominator" and "obnoxious" doesn't convey the message and image of dumb and angry/loud. Your words are loaded with racial stereotypes. Dog whistle politics

And yes, if she was white, way more atrlers would stan her as seen by how atrl loves Iggy even when her bars and flow are way worse than Nicki.

but he didn't call her angry, loud or dumb?

YOU were the one mentioning those exact three words and put them into my mouth, not me. Seems like perhaps you are the racist one if you think being ''dumb, angry and loud'' is stereotypical for black women.
And what? Iggy is one of the most hated hip-hop artists among ATRL AND the GP, for the exact same reason that ''she's white and appropriates black culture!''.
Once again, creating issues and issues and issues where there are none.

oh my god you understand nothing about race oh my god
Race doesn't really exist for you because it has never been a barrier. Black folks don't have that choice. The only reason you say that race was not an issue is because you wish it was not. We all wish it was not. But it’s a lie.

Obnoxious could apply to literally any person, regardless of their race. Once again, if you think being ''obnoxious'' fits the box and is stereotypical for just black women, I really think you just might have some prejudice and racist ideas about black people hun.
But it's always refreshing to learn something new. Good to know that basic words like obnoxious are now racist. How dare you use that against a black woman!

"Lowest common denominator" can mean so many things.
And we can't have a world where we all can only describe people using words opposite to the stereotypes of their race. Then we'd only be able to describe Chinese, Japanese people as stupid and never call them intelligent for example, when the truth is some of the genuinely are incredibly intelligent (and a gift to the world tbh, our technological and scientific progress wouldn't be where it is today without South East Asians, not to say other races have done nothing but they have done a LOT to help us all).
Sometimes, by coincidence, a particular person's traits do happen to match up with stereotypes of demographics they fit in. Of course, not all men are violent, but there are a lot who genuinely are, and we should be allowed to say those particular men are violent.

This posts literally makes zero sense. What other meanings does "lowest common denominator" have other than being dumb and simple? And your points make zero sense. You get that calling Asians intelligent is a positive stereotype right and not a negative one? It's completely different from the matter at hand.
And on your second point:
Quote:
But it wasn’t until recently that I began to see that the popular “black girl with an attitude” trope was just a way to oppress and undermine black women and our ability to engage, connect and feel. These negative traits are consistently pinned on black women, depicting us as angry even as we calmly state an opinion, or as having an attitude when we are justifiably angry. Who cares if we are understandably angry about the countless black people murdered in the past year?
|
You do get that calling a black woman obnoxious and dumb is loaded right?

So if I post a load of links about the "Angry redneck" stereotype, you will never call a white Republican man angry ever again?
If someone thinks a black woman is acting angry, they have a right to describe her as angry.
If someone thinks a right-wing American male living in a rural area is acting angry, they have the right to describe him as angry.
Both are stereotypes, but sometimes they are true.

In America, racism exists but racists are all gone. Racists belong to the past. Racists are the thin-lipped mean white people in the movies about the civil rights era. Here’s the thing: the manifestation of racism has changed but the language has not. So if you haven’t lynched somebody then you can’t be called a racist. If you’re not a bloodsucking monster, then you can’t be called a racist. Somebody has to be able to say that racists are not monsters.

Just because you don't call people the N-word doesn't mean you can't be racist It's new age racism, hidden behind coded language. And since when was the Guardian, Huffington Post, everydayfeminism, and atlantablackstar tabloids

You've heard it here first ladies and gentlemen. Don't call a black person any word that isn't a positive one. Don't be a racist!
I swear the goal of people like you is just to mock actual racism and make a joke out of it, with idiocy like this. Lord.

I suppose the Asian stereotype is a positive one, but what about the violent male stereotype? That's definitely not positive. Lots of males live lives almost never being violent, but there are also lots of males who are consistently violent and they should be called out as such imo. What do you think? Should we never call males violent so that we don't offend the peaceful males?
