If it was forgettable (like any Leona album lol) the album wouldn't be back in the Top 10. People would have left it alone and been on to the next thing.

isnt the album about females? why would a cis man whose sexuality remains a mystery singing about the opposite sex interest gay media outlets?

Here's to our good guy, he hooked it up
Said if I was in NY I should look you up
I, first time I done saw you
You text nothing like you look
Here's to the gay bar you took me to
It's when I realized you talk too much, more than I do
So much straightness

I swear to god this kind of oversensitive and attention seeking things come straight up from America
people don't pay attention to Frank Ocean (specially gay publications) because it doesn't appeal to the basic gay people, the album is quite avant-garde and quite boring also, plus he's a lil overrated

lol
the album is riddled with nondescript, genderless somethings about something that leave it up to the listener to decide if he's feenin for dick in that given moment, but Blonde in itself does nothing for the gay community other than exist. Why, then, should he or anyone else feel that he's entitled to ****? The whole album is just Frank yammering on about... whatever, without ever once trying to connect with his audience.
For the gay community to ignore it, there'd have to be something actually there. There isn't. Race has nothing to do with it.

For someone whose description is "white gays whine too much" you certainly have a large proportion of posts that are complaining about one thing or another

Gay media publications are extremely white, not going to bother bitching about it, it is what it is. Frank is better than most of them and his style and content isn't all that gay either.
Effortless king is still coming in hot at the top with 300k plus though

!
Maybe he didn't get covered by queer magazine because he ain't all that queer to begin with.

Listen to Ivy or Seigfried, even the cover can be a reference to his bisexuality by using the male version of Blonde (blond) on the album cover and the female version (blonde) on the album, and he's been referencing his sexuality since his mixtape days so you can sit down and stop acting all clever.

But the gay should care every time Gus Kenworthy takes his shirt off?

This.
He or his fans shouldn't expect the queer community to claim him if he's not going to do anything for us.

Eh I wouldn't go that far. He's a member of the community, so yes he should be claimed; but that doesn't mean we have to applaud him for anything and everything either.

I'm sorry but Adam Lambert sacrificed his mainstream career being an openly feminine man, Sam Smith went #1 with a song about openly loving an man, Olly Alexander and Troye Sivan are out there breaking gender binaries with their fashion and singing with male pronouns in their songs, Shamir is out there busting their ass singing about living queer and you want to claim that Frank Ocean's heteronormative ass is the most important LGBT artist of the millennium, someone who doesn't even want to be labeled as queer?

What song did Sam use masculine pronouns in? He intentionally used gender-less pronouns for hits. Ffs he didn't even fully show the man whose bed he was leaving in the video for Stay With Me
Nobody besides Twitter and tumblr gays and young girls knows who Troye is. Olly's band is local to the UK
