No, it doesn't matter, and I don't care how they wanna identify as, but their "identities" have nothing to do with sexual orientations. That "sexual orientation" where someone is attracted with hammers, buldings and stuff are NOT sexual orientations, it's a mental issue when you wanna marry a f*ucking tool

Depends how we look at it. One could say 4, which isn't false, however isn't true either.

What we know about human sexuality so far can be shown on a triangle. The top of it represents the Kinsey Scale, the bottom tip asexuality. Considering the number of points on the triangle is infinite, there is an infinite number of sexual orientations. In case someone doesn't understand what I mean, here's a picture:


A person may be placed anywhere in there as they can be homoromantic asexual or homosexual heteroromantic, demisexual etc. The differences between two points may be subtle, but will exist.

Of course, this doesn't include autosexuality or pansexuality, however personally I'm doubtful of their existence as a sexual orientation and leaning more towards it being disorders or variations of something on this triangle. This is, however my personal opinion and I'm not a specialist.

Pansexuality frustrates me though, as many pan individuals try to paint bi individuals in a bad light.

Theoretically there are infinite as sexual orientation is a continuous spectrum.

You can classify them as much as you want. The broadest is dividing the spectrum into three distinct zones ranging from Gay/Lesbian -> Bisexual -> Straight. The ranges of these zones varies depending on who you ask. There's also a fourth categorization for the empty set, Asexual, reserved for those who do not even have a sexual orientation.

A lot of the "tumblr'-esque sexual orientations include more characteristics that don't fit the same model used to define LGB.
