Has Europe become more nationalistic/ignorant than the US
Often people look at the US as a country that holds itself to a position in which they feel like they're superior to the rest of the world, being nationalistic and pretty ignorant at times but meanwhile the country has been run by a left-wing, very liberal president for 8 years and soon to be 12 years with Trump doing bad in all the polls.
In Europe however, which is known to be very tolerant, countries have seen a huge increase in extreme right-wing, nationalistic/populistic parties, mainly due to the rise of Islamic refugees and radical Islamic terrorist attacks. In my country for example, The Netherlands, the party that's far above in the polls and would win the election as of right now, is a extreme right-wing party with a leader called Geert Wilders who is known worldwide for his anti-islam views (he's often compared to Trump, both because of his politics and appearance and also happens to be a Trump supporter). The party following him in the polls is a center-right party that is even getting more right.
Brexit was mainly based on this too. France has been making headlines with its Burquni banning, the list goes on and on.
Now sure, the US has Trump but apparently the majority of the country is rejecting him, while in Europe almost every country has parties like just explained above on the rise.
Is Europe becoming more and more nationalistic, right-wing and conservative, that feels like they're superior to the rest of the world while the US is becoming less?
