The general.consensus seems to be Gen 5. It does have some of the worst Pokemon ever but at least it could come up with its own ideas and didn't have to leech off of Gens 1-3 like Gen 4, 6 and 7 have. Also, I feel like a lot of ppl hate Hoenn as a region but like the Pokemon.

I made this thread to defend g5 like you were in the Pokethresd but after that Hoenn shade let me not

Gen 5 for all and I like Vanilite. The pokemon were just uninspiring. Also the region was boring to me.

I don't get this part, what are you saying ? That Gen 5 leeched off Gen 1-3 concepts or that it didn't ? Because it definitely did, that being one of the many reasons why Gen 5 is the worst.

Gen 6. No longevity, felt like a rehash and little content to offer compared to the previous gens.

Really? Do you know why people don't like Hoenn? I can't see what's wrong with it (but I only played the original Ruby and Emerald, I haven't played the re-makes).

The only thing I can think of is that there's so much water in it (the game designers seemed to make the region half water/half land to match the Groudon vs. Kyogre thing).

Gen 3 is an exact copy of Gen 1 tho... I don't know why you only have frustrations with Gen 5. When GF follows the same cookie cutter formula for every generation.

Mess I mean it was definitely inspired by them, but I was referring to new evos (Gen 4) megas (gen 6) and alola forms (gen 7)

Gen 5. But I'm coming around to most of its Pokemon by now. But there's none that I would put in my Top 20; which for every other gen, I can say I have at least one in my top 20 (except Gen 7 so far but they need time and they're not even revealed in full yet).

EDIT: Re: Gen 7. I adore Pikipek so it would probably become a Top 20 mon in the end, but I need to see her evolutions first.

a lot of these are improvements anyway. y'all seriously about to criticise something specific in the pokemon franchise for rehashing.

Generation 5, the one that made literal garbage a pokemon.

n, they conveniently forget that gen 3 was an attempt at reinventing the series but failed for the most part.

unova's lack of pre-gen v pokemon was refreshing, of course they'd have throwbacks.

Anyone voting for Johto, Hoenn & Sinnoh will be on my ignore list.

Yes, a lot of those are a huge stretch, even I have to admit that. I just didn't had the patience or the time to edit the picture.

And @borntodiethisway, true that they've been applying the same formula for every generations (starters - rodent - bird - - bug/butterfly - fossils - pika clone) but for the Gen 5, because they had this whole gimmick going on of Unova being reclusive and not having any pokémons from older generations, they felt the need to make duplicates of them.

This is not the only reason why I think it's the worst gen, but well, this is a never-ending debate, so what's the point.
