Have you studied abroad during your time in school? Where did you study, how was it adjusting to a different culture, was it hard to get accepted into study abroad programs?
I've not studied abroad, but I've worked abroad in two countries - France and Argentina, where I am currently - as part of my university degree in the UK.
No but I want to do it...studying abroad can be scary but it's so much fun! My sister has studied abroad in Australia last year! She had a blast and found love.
Yes, it's a great experience. You might feel a bit homesick and the culture shock might surprise you but that's only temporary - I got used to it very quickly and it was one of the best experiences I've had!
Yes. I studied in Aix-en-Provence, France for my junior year of undergrad. I highly recommend it if it's feasible. The life skills you learn from adapting to a different culture for a year are invaluable.
I wish I had the opportunity to but with my major they were very strict on which classes you had to take and I couldn't translate that with another country's equivalent classes.
I applied for a yearlong program at King's College London earlier this year and they rejected me
I'm hoping to do a program in Spain during my junior year to increase my Spanish skills but I think I'd only be able to go for a quarter. I'd prefer to go for a year for a more immersive experience but it's taken me too long to decide my major
Yes, it was lovely. I did a dual city program in Paris and London. I studied at the ESCE in Paris and lived in the 15th arr. and I studied at the FIE in London and lived in South Kensington. Adjusting to a different culture wasn't too terrible, although when I arrived in Paris it was like 100 degrees and like nowhere had AC and I wanted to kill myself. Getting accepted into study abroad programs isnt too difficult at most universities, unless your grades are really bad or you have major conduct issues.
