So, this guy named Brian Kenny posted the following photo on Instagram a couple of days ago but it got removed due to it "violating" some of their community guidelines.
He ended up reposting the photo w/ the message he got from them and said the following:
Quote:
@briankennny: This totally non-nude, nonsexual self-portrait was just removed by instagram for "violating" their community guidelines. This kind of censorship is completely egregious! Ive read the guidelines carefully and there's no justification for this. Some may point out the folds in my shorts are suggestive of the presence of a dick, but how is that wrong, especially in a non sexual manner? I am not touching myself or posing suggestively. I am not hard, you cannot see the outline of my dick and I cannot help that I was blessed a large package that always creates a *****. Furthermore, i'm wearing shorts, not underwear, which by the way is also allowed in all of its intrinsic ******* variations. So I do not understand why it was removed. Thus, I am reposting this image to all my social media accounts with an overlay of the removal notification to point out this nonsensical censorship and add my voice to the argument that this kind of blind censorship is not only unnecessary but sends the destructive message that nudity is wrong, even suggested nudity, that we should be ashamed of who we are and how we appear. I implore @instagram to take a better look at what they're claiming violates anything. What do you think?
So, what are your thoughts on the issue at hand, girls? Was it right to remove the image? A lot of people post photos of butts and #eggplantfridays was way worse before it got removed?
I mean yeah I've seen worse on IG that weren't removed.
Though, because IG removed his picture, it lead to some media coverage which resulted in someone making a thread of it on ATRL and posting his picture here for me to see, so I ain't complaining
On the one hand, I don't condone censorship, in any shape or form.
On the other hand, the fact that he bothered to type this paragraph over this messy ass picture being taken down is kind of... idk. Pointless. And he sounds (and seems) like a douche, but that's beyond the point
