He's literally just stating facts. And it that particular rally he was speaking to people hurting much more than the average American. Trump's still and will always be an idiot but my god the desperate attempts to get livid at every word that comes out of his mouth is just old at this point.

The white percent for that statistic is around 50%. You know why it's so high? Because those numbers include all high schoolers and people in college who are unemployed. The total black unemployment rate is around 9%, which is still not good, but not the apocalyptic number he keeps citing.

It's like me saying 70% of young human beings are virgins, when I only count those from age 1 to age 25.

It's a lot to do with the way he said it in addition to what he said. I noticed him using "your"; referring to the black community. "Your children... your people" and so on. Really divisive language tbh.

I'm well aware. Never said that youth unemployment was non existent among other races however its DISPROPORTIONATE against African American youth showing that there is a real problem that needs to be addressed.

Regardless, your response to my post was meaningless because it wasn't even combating the focus of my original comment. My focus was that the "outrage" among Donald Trump for simply spewing out statisitcs his speech writers put down for him is unfounded and tired at this point.

Bernie could've used the same numbers and then said "its because of the billionaire class" and the same people would have cheered. Not everything is a headline.

58% of african americans 16-24 are unemployed if you account for the entire population (including high school and college students). the actual number that people who aren't trying to make black people sound lazy use is closer to 10%, which, yes, is higher compared to white people.

Just because you refer to a group of people using your doesn't make it divisive. You think the average american, regardless of the race, doesn't speak in generally the same or similar manner?

I really don't see how this particular sound bit is so negative. Raw and unpolished maybe but divisive? Not so much. If you aren't even allowed to address issues facing the black community how can you expect to solve them. (Albeit, Trump won't be solving any issues, but I'm looking at the bigger picture of how people seem to get offended when white people talk about issues regarding minorities.)

Actually most government stats are horribly fudged to cover up their true numbers. They fail to include underemployment which would be those who took jobs considered "lessor" per say in income or hours. Underemployment affects African Americans on a much broader scope and actually causes more of the issues than unemployment does sadly.

The issues of unemployment and underemployment and crime with black people need to be addressed. Even though the facts he said are true, saying it in that tone was not the right way to go about it. He shouldn't have acted condescending towards the blacks if he wanted their votes.
