Gaga truly deserved it.

I can't believe some people think Gaga deserves it more than Rihanna. All her videos looked cheap before Bad Romance, the Artpop era didn't get any VMAs noms (for a reason), and she only has two videos with 300M+ views on YouTube (only one of them is iconic). Her last good video is 5 years old.

Rihanna's videography is more diverse, memorable and popular. The only female artist who won VOTY twice.

Honestly, this award should be for artists who have a string of videos that were popular, influential, and creative/innovative in some way. Very few artists have that. Most of the people who've received it don't deserve it in my opinion.

Bey deserves it the most, she's the one who worked the hardest in creating her videos.

Beyoncé, Britney, and Gaga are the obvious candidates. They all should have been awarded before Rihanna.

I'm still pressed that Born This Way wasn't nominated for VOTY. One of the biggest and most obvious snubs I've ever seen. It would have won. But VMAs are kinda meaningless sooooo lol

Poker Face and Paparazzi are both great videos, even Just Dance is cute (like a lot of Rih's videos are). they both equally deserve it

Rihanna deserves it. Some people in here should stop being pressed and clasping at iconic because its actually a way of downplaying someone else's work

But should I rely on a gay Gaga Stan saying Gaga deserves it more or Rihanna who won two VOTY and now the Vanguard? Hard call but I'll pass on the former option.
