Wait… so because there are some instances of black on white aggression now you can't support the BLM? Did you not support whiteness for all those years that black people were abused? What a ridiculous, privileged and selfish attitude. "I cannot support this because now *I* feel threatened."

I feel like everyone should stick up for black people when they're being targeted for their skin tone alone and stick up for people who are being discriminated against in general regardless of their race/sexuality. However, BLM (organization/movement) is horribly flawed and extremely hateful so I'm a bit iffy about the movement itself. I wouldn't say I support it as I don't support any leaderless movements in general. They only bring toward chaos.

Black people generally cannot be racist against whites. It's just not a thing because in America. Whites have all the power already. If you're white and seriously concerned about the way white people are being treated then you have such an immense amount of privilege that even the slightest sign of it being threatened makes you into some sort of victim. Where were you when the situation was not only reversed, but much worse for black people?

Considering there has been zero conclusive data that the motivating factor for all of these shootings is race, no I do not feel the need to speak directly on BLM. However in the specific cases where I see horrible police brutality and negligence (ex: Alton Sterling), yes I will speak out because there is clearly an issue in that specific instance.

The entire focus of BLM is off base and borderline vitriolic. The defensive argument amongst its supporters continues to be "Do you actually think (insert example here of people rioting/causing mayhem in the name of BLM) represents the ENTIRE movement. Obviously the answer is no, not every individual but you can use that faulty argument for any cause/person. The radical fringe of black power believers have overtaken the movement with hatred and thus promote further division and self segregation.

tbh, I don't understand why the focus hasn't been on the economic stagnation in black communities as opposed to the violence.

Yes, the violence is terrible, yes police brutality is sickening, but it seems like a good chunk of the problems BLM really should be addressing is the blind eye everyone has turned towards black communities in terms of apportionment of resources and jobs. A lot of the problems in black America seem to have an economic root (not caused by them wholly), such as drug usage rates, crime rates, etc.

Focusing all this national attention solely on police vs black violence kind of misses the main cause, and just gets people to march for something that, to be honest, does not happen that often in the long term scheme of things. Why not use the spotlight to demand equality economically on top of police reform?

Absolutely. Seeing as I'm not a racist, I vocally support BLM and everything they stand for.

Don't act brand new. There are truckloads of people on the internet, particularly on this forum, who claim black people cannot be racist at all.

Regardless of that, although you do make a good point, it's doing too much and going further than what is trying to be said. Just because white people are privileged and have more power in the world does not mean black people can't be racist nor does it make it okay to be racist.

You cannot hate all white people because of the actions of a select few. Someone who had that attitude went to a church and killed a dozen black people. It's not right and never will be right.
