All I did was wear green, but at least it's the spirit that counts.

Which also raises this question. Do people in Ireland get this day off work and/or school? I mean, it's sort of like a religious holiday for the Irish.

Really? I heard it's a big American holiday and that the Irish don't really go all out like we do. So we should have the day off.

It's an Irish holiday. It's only a big deal in America because of the Irish diaspora living there, which amounts to approx 40 million people.

That's what loads of people do! The Irish are associated with alcohol so its keeping with the tradition of the day
