Tonga’s out gay Olympian Amini Fonua has opened up about the sports which have the most queer athletes on Grindr at Rio 2016.
Asked by LGBT Olympic Analyst, Charley Walters in a video interview to reveal the sports with the most gay or bi athletes on Grindr, he says: “Rugby."
Going on to say: “There are a couple of rugby payers, judo, water polo. I mean – sexy men – handsome men.”
He adds: “Im so proud to be gay,: saying he is proud of the community which has been accepting of him.
Of whether it is a “distraction” from his sport to be out as gay, Fonua says: “For me it would be more difficult for me to do what I do if I wasn’t out.”
