It's not that illogical to hope it flops.
If it takes TRULY tanking, and I don't mean flopping for Bey's standards I mean a straight up flop, to make her realise we don't want her or most likely Jay to keep shoving him/their relationship down our throats to the point where he seems to be latching onto everything she does, then it will be worthwhile.
Unfortunately, it seems the reason Jay hasn't put out any solo material in so long is so he can ride Bey's incredible success wave which started to really happen with self titled, meaning his stans will most likely purchase the album for Jay and fool them both into thinking it was being bought for them together.
I'll be more than happy to eat my words if it turns out to be greatness, but I am not going in with stan goggles ready to praise something that will most likely be cutting short the era of her best album and biggest tour for the sake of someone who can in 2016 not release their own material or tour alone..

Stanning for Bonnie & Clyde, Crazy in Love, Deja Vu, Upgrade You, Drunk In Love, On the Run (Part 2), living for their Holy Grail duett, yet hoping this joint album doesn't exist or flops if it does - only the Beyhive.

Surprise releasing is cute but promo and a little hype can be also.

I'm surprised at you Chriz. If the timing were different and the album subject matter were not capitalizing off of lemonade, then maybe id share your excitement but what other topic have they covered in their collabs thats worth an album-full of material?

Jay is gonna have to step his game up. I hope he doesn't sound like a constipated Grandpa who needs to take his ensure.

Maybe it'll tie into Lemonade and the footage is already shot.
i'm just tired of everything being so secretive even though i get why they do it

That is exactly my point and I'm sorry if it sounded harsh.
I really dislike JayZ, I really really do, he is the star I hate the most, as a matter of fact that's the first thing people noticed about me when I joined the site. Lately it downed on me that choosing Beyoncé professionally means you also chose Jay.
He is all over her solo career, there is not one single era where she left him at home where he belongs. She has 6 solo albums and he is featured in HALF of her lead singles. If he is not on the lead, then he is in a video or on tour or featured on the making of the tour or the making of the album. Not a single era goes by without him and there are some eras when he is at the same time in the lead, the videos, the tour, the making of the album/tour!
I even paid money to see him on tour because that year, if you wanted to see Beyoncé on tour, you had to see her husband too. So I paid my hard earned money and spent half the time watching the artist that I hate the most perform, knowing that half the money I paid will go to his pockets. It is really funny and pathetic but that's stanning for you.
Some of you here hate Rihanna so bad or Britney Spears, imagine having to endure either one during each Bey's era and a joint tour. Then she makes her best album ever, barely acknowledges it and piggybacks its response to launch a join album with Rihanna/BS. Even if dislike/hatred is not involved, don't you guys feel like it's too much? She is in love, I get it, that's a beautiful thing but why does he always have to be involved? Why is her personal life spilling so much into her professional life?
Not to mention, the biggest issue : he has nothing left in him musically or creatively.
The OTR video/tour was so awful for me and at the time I didn't imagine it could even get worse.

I thought it was clear I meant the experience not the actual content. I did hate the video (03' Bonnie & Clyde uninspired, blockbuster, tacky parody) but I can never hate a Bey's show. The experience of so much Jay was really awful for me. Not that you can relate, being his stan and all.

What are you talking about? Magna Carta... Holy Grail sold 500,000+ in it's first week and was certified platinum. Jay got a top 5 Billboard hot 100 hit with "Holy Grail" and received 9 Grammy Award nominations from that album. He is still very much relevant. He went to a sold out tour with JT and On The Run with Bey and both did extremely well. Even if Jay is touring solo, his touring receipts ALWAYS SLAY!! Obviously he does not gross $100 million solo, but which rapper does???
Stop the disrespect please, especially the legendary Jay mutha******g Z

Wooo sis, I'm floored! Look at you and I having things in common. Bey was brilliant so I guess it was worth it but never again for me tbh.

Couldn't have said it better!!!! I will eat my own words if this will be some kind of masterpiece, but let's be honest here Jay has nothing new to give.
I guess we shall see in the end

Guess y'all forgot when jay z was slaying and beyonce hadn't put out material for a min. "I took some time to live my life
But don’t think I’m just his little wife" I love Beyoncé but jay z has his own success that's comparable if not more than hers so let's not play.
