The US is not socialist. But it does have democratic socialist policies. As every country should have. It's a proven and effective concept when you can have capitalism exist as well.
Some countries can't balance the two. The US has a much stronger economy, middle, and upper class to achieve it

Well, I didn't eat today... The situation is really depressing, me and my mom work hard but still we cannot eat everyday (we give the food that we find to my little sister and my brother)
I just can't stop thinking about food, you guys don't have any idea of how this feels
_
On September 1st there's gonna be a huge protest, pray for us guys

OMG this is so sad to hear Is it because the lack of money or the lack of food? I hope the situation gets better for you guys. I would totally send a care package with canned goods and desserts if it was possible.
I'm from the states so I don't know if you can but when I was deployed in Afghanistan we didn't have much to eat at my station so my family would send me food through USPS and I would get it in 1 week or 2. If you can let me know.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I can imagine how it feels. It's been a struggle here to find something decent to eat.
I hope something favorable happens this year or february/march max.

I feel like it really crosses the line when basic human needs like food are impossible to find. I don't think most people realize how much we rely on grocery stores being full. The government is basically holding its citizens hostage.
Seeing the government blame the US is just disgusting, as if this is the time to play petty politics.

Exactly.
It's crazy that the government is refusing humanitarian aid (food, medicine, etc) because they don't want to look inefficient. They're literally letting their people go hungry just so they don't appear weak. Unthinkable.

I hate both sides of the "Socialism is cancer!!!" and "No sweaty dismantle capitalism " argument when the topic at hand is that people are dying and it's likely something you'll never experience or know about in Western culture.

Well at a point something needs to be done, and that can truly only be achieved with a smart social and economic policy. It's not a bad thing to say what is the cause and a possible solution to deal with the devastation.

It's really sad actually. Im from Panama, so Ive met a lot of venezolanos here. It's even sadder when they have to go back because they cant find a job.
I really wish we could help them more, but there are already at least +600,000 here (some people say they round a million) and the Goverment is being restrict in job's licenses.
And when was Venezuela the richest country in Latin America?

Yes, what shockens me is that venezolanos are mean with their own people. Real state is crazy in Panamá, and they take advantage of it. Most inmigrants live in apartments own by other inmigrants and they rent a ROOM for $500.
It's drives me crazy. Like they are aware of the struggle and they still treat their own people like that? They know how much that money is worth in Venezuela.

It's not a secret for us (venezuelans) that there is a "good" amount of other tricky venezuelans that use this situation to make even more money since no one gives a s*** here at the moment. But hey, they don't represent us, not even the majority of us, believe me.
Those who are doing that kind of stuff are the ones that make it out of the country just for tacky bussiness.
