This is true, but I think what they mean is that it's ALL people care about now. Before it was a catchy single PLUS the artist behind it, the visuals, etc. Now it really does seem like a bunch of instagram stars releasing singles randomly and hoping something sticks. Nothing feels as genuine or planned anymore. Expectations are lower now than they used to be for an artist to be interesting and stand out.
