Discussion: Seeing a Tinder match in real life

What do you do if you have a chance encounter with someone you've matched with on Tinder or spoken to on Grindr? Do you say hello and start a conversation or ignore the hell out of them?

I always ignore them and get out of the situation ASAP.. it's so awkward to me and it happens way more often than I feel it should

It's the worst when you go into a shop/restaurant though and they're on the register and you have to kinda talk to them.

I'm the type of person who always second guesses whether it's actually them or not.

If I felt comfortable, I might be polite & shyly say "Hey" depending on what the situation is, but I'd leave it at that unless they try to talk more.

I've matched with over 400 guys on Tinder and see heaps at Bang (my club) and on train! I kinda ignore him and think Ew I matched with that loser

The reason I didn't the one time it happened was because I messaged first and he didn't respond

We went to High School together and very slightly knew each other (meaning like had a two second conversation one time and had some mutual friends). He had a girlfriend the entire time I knew him in HS and I'm pretty sure he was still with her when we matched because I saw him at a party a few weeks later and he came in with her. BUT he just messaged me back yesterday and his bio says "single"

In Liverpool I always bump into my matches. It's super awkward. Especially if they try to approach you with 'Hey we talked on Tinder...'. I usually just try to avoid these situations. If I see them from afar and approaching me, I run.

There was this creepy dude on grindr that kept begging me to top him without a condom. I told him I wasn't interested but he wouldn't leave me alone so I blocked him. A few days later we spotted eachother in McDonalds while I was in line and he kept staring at me like he just saw a ghost. He was actually working there so I was scared he would c*m in my burger or something so I just turned around and left.

I've never /bumped/ into a match or anyone from Grindr, but once I was on the tram home with my mum then when I got home a guy popped up on Grindr telling me he liked what I was wearing

Turns out he was literally just staring at me on the tram and I didn't realise... After that I've always been scared of seeing guys from those apps in public.

Edit: Actually I was wrong, I just remembered I have bumped into a guy from Grindr

It was a guy who kept offering me money to meet him, I turned him down then a few weeks later I walked past him at the bus station. He definitely saw me and i saw him, super awkward eye contact.
