That "youuu" isn't the important part of the key change tho...the key changes for LOT is "baby cause ur the one that I love" when she goes higher and higher, which is why the song is IT vocally.

She gives her self time to properly transition by giving the fans the "youuu" part and she catches her breath and transitions to a new key to sing the "baby cause..." part! If she had to sing it all the transitions would be too much?! Not you pretending like you didn't know exactly what i meant.
I can't hear it. The vocal arrangement is too difficult and Rih doesn't do old school much (LOTB would be the first with that kinda vibe). It would have to be a completely new song.
Rihanna can't really sing anything above a C#5 without being strained or being flat so there are so many notes in the song out of her comfort zone, even in the first chorus. People are saying she could adjust it, but it just wouldn't feel the same without the key changes, it builds up and is explosive.
Unless they change a LOT, from the production to the vocal arrangements, I can't see her sing it. The song screams Bey, and yeah I don't think Rih can pull it off vocally.
And I agree Higher is a mess, I don't care if it's supposed to be "emotional", (most her fans always use this excuse) she sounds like she just struggles to hit the notes imo
