-Am a student, would prefer at least 200gb storage
-Is retina display worth it? I'd like it tbh
-I want something resistant, the Mac Air looks so weak and breakable
Retina isn't worth it tbh, my MacBook Air is so flawless. The new MacBook is flimsy and too small.
Get a MacBook Air with extra storage, and you can get a case for it to make it more durable. It's the perfect little computer tbh.
I'd only recommend a pro if you're doing design or need rendering. Otherwise it's just not worth the expense. (If money isn't a problem though - get one. They run so smoothly, though heavier to lug around)
Once you go Retina, you never go back. It's not just the pixel density; it's everything from the colors to the brightness to the accuracy. Go for a Pro.
Get the mid-tier (256GB) MacBook Pro with Retina Display. Runs you $1399 with an education discount on the Apple Store and you can probably find it even cheaper at Best Buy if you look for a sale/coupon since it hasn't been refreshed in a while.

Pro. Its the perfect laptop for a student in terms of speed, portability, power, and pixel density. But if you're not in a hurry to get one, you should wait as the Macbook Pro line is due to have a major upgrade by the end of this year
I really wish I could wait for the new ones but my current laptop is super disgusting (I thought HP delivered quality, guess not). I was leaning for the mid tier Pro w/Retina. Thank you all!

Yeah. I was loyal to HP for a while, but every HP product I've owned has had problems, including hard drive crashes that have led to me losing everything. Now that I've owned a Mac, I'll never go back.
Seriously wait for the new ones to come out in September. All specs will be getting a major upgrade, including storage, with an all new design for the same price. Ultimately, you'll be getting more for the same price or less. The MacBook Pro with Retina display is your best option now and after the redesign. The MacBook Air will be slowly phased out next month and sold as a budget Mac until stock is gone, as it's being replaced by the 12" MacBook.
I've been using a 2012 15" Pro with retina and a dedicated GPU, and it stills runs very fast and looks flawless. I do a lot of heavy 3D modeling, rendering, and graphic work, but the processors and onboard RAM handle everything like a champ. Best investment I've ever made on technology, and I've never had a single problem with it.
