In all honesty, I seriously feel that celebs should quit social media for personal use and only use it for business purposes. He is in the right for once. But that doesn't takes away that social media is the pits and that trolling and overreacting is like normal as breathing there. Responding to it only feeds it.
Clearly, some people in here don't seem to understand the cons of fame. If someone you're hanging out with is being hated on in a vile manner by your fans (or anyone else for that matter), you have every right to speak out and stand up for them.
If you think that's childish, I don't know what to say. Maybe you don't stick up for your friends.
