Teen-sexting ex-congressman sits behind Trump at Rally
Disgraced teen-sexting ex-congressman Mark Foley sits behind Trump at rally. . . as The Donald clobbers Hillary for letting dad of Orlando gunman into her event
- Donald Trump clobbered Hillary Clinton on Wednesday for allowing the father of terror shooter Omar Mateen to sit in a place of honor at a rally
- Seddique Mateen sat behind the Democrat Monday in a town near the site of the Pulse nightclub massacre
- But while Trump laid into Clinton, he was likely unaware that disgraced former congressman Mark Foley was sitting behind him
- Foley, who resigned in 2006 after admitting that he sent lewd texts to teen boys, was seated in a row marked 'RESERVED'
- Trump went out of his way to describe how only VIPs get to sit behind candidates in full view of TV cameras
- While he meant to paint Clinton into a corner, he was describing the same situation he found himself in
Quote:
Donald Trump loudly berated Hillary Clinton on Wednesday for allowing the father of a deadly terrorist to appear near her at a campaign rally – while a disgraced former congressman who resigned in 2006 after a teen-boy sexting scandal sat behind him and grinned from a row of VIP seats.
'When you get those seats, you sorta know the campaign!' Trump said, intending to put Clinton on the defensive but unwittingly boxing himself in.
At the Sunrise, Florida, rally, former Republican Rep. Mark Foley was spotted in a row behind him that was marked with a paper sign reading 'RESERVED.'
Foley told the south Florida Sun-Sentinel at the rally that he liked 'the energy' of Trump's outsider campaign for president.
'I've been a friend of Mr. Trump's since 1987,' the sketchy former legislator said.

Foley resigned from Congress in disgrace in 2006 after he admitted sending lewd text messages to underage boys
Quote:
Trump gave Foley $8,500 over nearly a decade, according to Federal Election Commission records. that total included $1,000 in 2006, the year the Floridian resigned in disgrace.
He admitted sexting teens who were or had been congressional pages. But he always insisted he never had sexual contact with the boys, and both FBI and Florida law enforcement investigations wrapped up without criminal charges.
In a further irony, then-House Speaker Dennis Hastert delivered the ultimatum to Foley at the time: quit or be expelled from Congress.
Hastert, it was later discovered, was hiding his own history of sexually abusing teen boys when he was a wrestling coach in Illinois.
Foley followed his resignation from Congress with a stint in alcohol rehab and later revealed that he was himself the victim of a pedophile priest when he was a boy.
He came out as gay after his political career was over, but his sexual orientation had long been an open secret on Capitol Hill.
