There's nothing subtle about giving the most know legendary and most iconic fully evolved Pokemon 2 Megas each.

I actually had a problem with Mewtwo in particular. The abomination that is MMX should have NEVER existed.

That said, I don't really mind them only giving out the Alola Forms for Gen I Pokemon for some reason. Now it actually would be nice for my actual Gen I faves to start getting them, but most of my faves were already payed dust when it came to Megas so I guess I'm just used to it.

You don't need a mega, just like you don't need a Fairy-type pokemon or a dark-type Pokemon or a Pokemon with its hidden ability. Does that mean they're removed? No.

They nerf things all the time though. They nerfed various types in Gen 2 also. They nerf and buff various moves and abilities all the time; see Knock Off's BP increase. But they've never removed an important battle mechanic. All the features they removed are non-battle mechanics.

They've not removed the therian formes for the genies, or shaymin's sky forme. there's no reason for them to remove mega evolutions. The question is not whether megas will be removed - coz they won't - it's whether they'll continue to add any, and it's too early to definitely say that either way. This gen won't focus on megas as it's not a gen7 aspect, so they may keep them till postgame, or they might stop adding them. They won't be removed though. Soz.

u know i always defend gen 1 mostly because of the unnecessary hate it gets (especially here)

But i dont get why they want to stick just to kanto pkmn! i hope more gens get alolan form and they dont wait till 4genremakes/3rd game or whatever for it
