Britney was not considered a legend in 2006.
But yes, let’s compare how they were treated once they declined. Did the media ever get back in favour of Mariah and Whitney’s comeback after their decline? Britney literally won Video of the Year for Piece of Me which is an AWFUL video, the year after her horrific Gimme More performance. Did Whitney or Mariah ever bounce back so easily?
Overall, their legacy remains the same and the media treats them as the legends they are, but past that they were not given the same ability to return to form as Britney was afforded.

Yes?
"We Belong Together" spent 14 weeks at #1 and TEOM sold some 15M copies WW.
Whitney had tons of chances but ****ed it up because of her own poor musical choices. Just Whitney had her highest first week sales despite Whatchulookinat as a lead and I Look To You beat that, despite both albums being absolutely atrocious.
Neither artist faced the same level of backlash as Britney. Need I remind you that one of the top news outlets in 2007 urged Britney to kill herself? Whitney definitely got it worse than Mariah (Whitney does have the biggest peak for a female), but even then they weren't the most controversial females out during their struggles (see: Princess Diana). The only other female pop star I'd mention is Janet, and while Britney was facing more personal backlash with people wanting to take her kids and see her kill herself, Janet actually got blacklisted and it killed her career and recurrent stats.
I'd like to see how this correlates to the OP and Beyonce, though. Obviously white privilege exists. Obviously Janet Jackson got undeserved backlash that ended her career. How do any of these points prove Beyonce had more backlash...when a quick Google Search gives you all the facts that she didn't?

They're so desperate to have everything. First the media worships Bey and now Bey has the most backlash according to them. And when their arguments fail, they go with the Nicki Minaj "But racism!" excuse.
I genuinely can't believe they're wishing their fave had worse backlash than what Britney had in 2007
