It depends on whether we're talking about in American society, or in global society.
In America, the most vocally anti-gay people are white (Evangelical Christians, etc).

I used to feel that way too, but my understanding of it now is that "black" is okay when used as an adjective (ie: "black lives," "black president"), but it's not okay when used as a noun (ie: "the blacks"). Most identity labels operate that way; "transgender people" is okay, but "transgenders" is not... "the gays" is less acceptable than "the gay community," and so forth.
