I was just discussing "racism" and this topic is somewhat relateable. I was discussing that it should be consider child abuse if a parent is teaching their 5 year old child to hate someone due to their skin tone or sexual orientation. It should be up to that child if they wanna like or dislike that person
Social services wouldn't house a child of that age. Between 16-18 is used to ready an individual into independence living, rehousing them from foster care. Unless in education, of which they're still liable until 24-25.
Most court proceedings have 18 as the age of liability though. As far as I'm aware anyway.
16 is age of consent in many States but federally your consider a minor till your 18 so it's confusing
It's so weird to see y'all refer to 16 year olds as children - here in Scotland 16 year olds can Marry, Vote, Enter into legal contracts (with some protection)... etc
Regardless, being homophobic towards your gay child is just another form of abuse, so yes, they should be taken away.
No, the parents should undergo psychological treatment, though. I have a friend who came out to his mom and she sent him to the psychologist. The psychologist of course noticed that the guy didn't have any problems, and chose to see the mom instead.
I told my mom to see a therapist when I came out I mean she was the one struggling while I was happily living my gay life
depends on your definition of "homophobic". If they are being abusive or neglectful than yes but you can't take people's kids away just because of their religious/political beliefs if they are not actually hurting the child
only if the parents are abusive to their child. If they don't agree with his sexuality, but don't harm him in any way, then that's okay. Nothing serious to cry and scream "homphobia!!1" online. Besides, with time they might accept his sexual orientation anyways.
