Should homophobic parents be stripped of their child if gay?
So if a child is 16, come out to the parents as gay/bi whatever, and they react very negatively against him (physically, mentally, financially, etc.), should they have the right to report it and move out of that terrible environment with support?
No, the parents should undergo psychological treatment, though. I have a friend who came out to his mom and she sent him to the psychologist. The psychologist of course noticed that the guy didn't have any problems, and chose to see the mom instead.

Probably but shouldn't it work both ways? Same-sex heterophobic parents should be stripped of their children as well? Or women who are misandrists have their sons taken away?
Where are they going to go? I get your point but no...
Well that's why it's ultimately their choice to report and leave. Although ideally the government would fund them for basic needs if they have nowhere else to go (or if they do but need to cover the costs).

xox
Abusive parents in general should be reported yeah. But this topic is focusing on homophobic ones.
I guess so because staying in the house with your parents means that it's not a safe environment for you to stay in. Idk if they have this in the USA but here in the UK, they have hotlines you can call for support as well as halfway houses the government can offer you as a place to stay.
No. A 16 years old is not capable of leaving alone without his parents.
Even if he's older, I don't agree with the government funding them thing. Not only there will be thousands of cases that get out of control because of this, but also thousands of fraudulent cases of non-gay people or non-homophobic parents using this as a way to get money.
But the option of reporting child abuse already exists, so.

Umm they are, I know 16 year olds who have lived independently.
