The Open Door is a more introspective look into Amy's mind and I appreciate that, and I find it has stronger choruses overall, but I feel the Lee / Moody vision realized with Fallen is a bit more on the mark, you know?

I get what you mean, but going back to Fallen, it just feels childish to me... A lot of the lyrical content is cringy and I sort of feel some sort of a missing confidence in Amy that I think she gained during the Fallen tour and and used up in the TOD with the freedom she got after Moody left...
Ev3 on the other hand could have been an exceptional album (certainly has a couple of amazing songs like Disappear and New Way to Bleed - both bonus tracks

) but it was basically done to be a cashgrab and to keep the company happy after they didn't like the initial Ev3 Amy worked on... I think that Ev3 would have been incredible... The moment Amy went 'ok I'll just give them what they want, some loud rock songs and get ma money' the magic went away...
The magic of the Lillywhite sessions is so obvious when you hear the 'Baby Did A Bad Thing' cover, and I just hope she someday releases Your Love, Hi-Lo and You've Got A Lot To Learn
Evanescence Rant Over.
