It's more a Wii U successor though, since the Wii U was basically the same idea.
It's just the NX is redefining it, while absorbing the 3DS in the process.

The NX will get all the typical first party games that the consoles usually get.

Making a Pokemon Go app for the NX would definitely help bolster 1M sales. I would not be shocked if they did it.

And with the system seamlessly integrating a mobile and console experience, Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Smash Bros, Splatoon, etc. should guarantee at least 20-30M sales WW, especially with third-party support.

The Wii U also launched with a Mario game, that didn't do much.
Zelda would have done well if it wasn't on Wii U.

Pokemon is literally make or break.

I'd more excited for Splatoon 2 and Breath of the Wild, the 3ds has pokemon sun and moon and mobile has pokemon go, I dont really see how you would have pokemon go on the nx if its a home console?

never realized how alike nintendo and apple are. APPLE fans say "we rich" lacks innovation.. Nintendo fans say the say, yet lacks innovation.

I wouldn't say that's true.

Out of the three corporations, Nintendo has always done the riskier innovations even if they haven't panned out. (See Gamecube, Wii; DS, 3DS). They made not have always made decisions I agree with but they've been the same respected company since the 80s when they brought the gaming industry out of the 80s crash.

PS4 and One have their respective positives but they're pretty much just an upgrade based on newer available tech while Nintendo focuses their first party around their intended console niche.
