In a 3rd world country where there's dire poverty and people starving without access to clean water, you expect them to spend the limited resources and money they have to spay/neuter 700 aggressive dangerous untrained dogs which would probably cost millions to do so anyway?

the problem here is clearly that pakistan has too many dogs and that sadly there's no really good solution for them right now, not western culture or the livestock!!!1

Why is poisoning them not a good solution? We have no problem doing that to rats. And its not like dogs have that much a higher physical capacity to suffer than rats or other mammal pests we have no problem killing.

But why is it not a valid point. It's not even to justify the killings of these dogs but the fact that animals like chickens, pigs, cows etc suffer A LOT more yet it's not deemed cruel and nothing is done about it. Imagine if an old white person passing away made news headlines and gained sympathy but a muslim being tortured didn't. Your holding one animal to a higher moral regard with special consideration when it can suffer the same just as the other animal. It's called speciesism and is very real.

The problem is right now your showing sympathy for these dogs when they barely suffered. For the last 5 mins of their lives i'm sure they did. But domesticated animals suffer their whole lives. Thats why its annoying to see people show sympathy for 5 10 maybe 30 mins of suffering but turn a blind eye and directly support an industry that brings upon a LIFETIME of suffering.

I've never had a rat problem so this doesn't really apply to me… but if I did, I wouldn't. I'd manually get them out because I don't like the idea of having them suffer for so long.

what? I never said I don't deem the suffering of livestock cruel or whatever I think that's also just as cruel, which is why I eat halal meat. I find it to be more ethical, if that's the right word

I don't think I'm showing sympathy for anything, I'm just asking why does ATRL always go STRAIGHT to the "western culture" stuff instead of actually talking about the actual issue at hand. it's just weird to me but I guess I get it now
