let's face the facts: women now have greater advantages than men in society. for example: there are positive discrimation catered to women, female shortlist propositions, extra funding/scholarships encouraging women to enter STEM
ridiculous concepts such as the gender paygap have been debunked (no credible economists even took those statistics seriously). HINT: most women get paid less than men because they make different life choices. it's nice to campaign for more women to go into STEM but the truth is most women are content with studying something useless like gender studies (which if i was in government, i would abolish immediately) anyway why isn't anyone bringing awareness to the fact that there's very little if zero representation of women in services like plumbing, sewerage work and construction? yes it's cool that we need more women in high paying, prestigious careers like politics, civil service and banking but we also need to tackle the gender imbalance in the plumbing business tbh
ironically the two women at the top of the political food chain (mother of all migrants merkel and mother theresa may) have both renounced feminism and yet they're two of the most powerful women in the world and what's even more ironic is, despite the constant (and desperate might i add) waving of the gender card, hillary is still not going to be president. poor iT
feminism WAS a good thing back in the days but now it's been weaponised to further justify and amplify the voice of the privileged. emma watson, the queen of hypocrisy and feminism , stood on the podium for feminism yet has avoided paying her taxes via off shore accounts, potentially jeopardising the funding of women's rights programs. dont get me started on taylor swift and the vile lena dunham
we have to recognise women are already in a greater position than men. girls are outperforming boys at school and at university. if anything working-class white boys are the least likely to attend university or enter the top professions. the concept of modern feminism has dangerously diverted attention away from real feminist issues, issues that actually feminists of colour face in countries where patriarchy actually exist like in the ME.
ultimately modern feminism is a disgrace and SHAME on all of you for supporting it blindingly just because the word 'feminism' is plastered on a backdrop while beyonce shakes her ass. SHAME on those of you who attack and bully others for refusing to support feminism. SHAME on the feminists who marginalise individuals who disagree with your warped ideology
modern feminism imo is disgusting and it's damaging and destructive. i know this thread will probably get closed cuz we're not allowed to have these conversations because of the PC brigade, but i am READY for your stones.
Sounds like you need a college education. Full offense you don't actually know what modern feminism is, you're just parroting white feminists and debunked false equivalences. Nobody here is going to take you seriously and provide a well-thought rebuttal with sources and citations because 1) you don't even take yourself seriously or you wouldn't have pulled the ******** "we need to save women in the Middle East from wearing oppressive hijabs" speech and 2) this isn't school, this is a forum for music, and nobody is going to do your research for you given that you have already shown yourself to be so far behind in critical thinking skills that no amount of hand holding can do you any good.
Sometimes I do think that modern feminism is a little misguided, in the sense that it should be more focused on women of colour in countries where they can be killed for trying to have an education. BUT, I do not agree that women are more advantaged than men. I am not a feminist because Beyonce is. I am a feminist because I believe in the social, economical, and political equality of the sexes and we are just not there yet.
