Especially not when we're talking about actors, as directors will never hesitate to put attractive white straight men doing a gay scene, but the they consider second its a queer person, especially a queer person of color, it's going too far. We need REAL queer representation, not this fake-ass dick tingle ********.
straight men arent oppressed in society and they profit off the LGBT community when they honestly dont give a damn and just want sales, or for us to pay attention to them cause their careers are flopping
I'd be lying to myself if I said I opposed it. I think an actor should be chose based on their ability to perform a specific role, and sometimes there WILL be straight male actors who just play the part better than any possible gay men who auditioned for it.
That's not to say there are no good gay actors, or that there isn't homophobia at play at all, because that'd be ignorant to think.
I feel like context is needed to the OP but overall yes.
It's outcome is actually progressive whether it annoys you or not. It eases people into being comfortable with romance between 2 men. If you're a 12 year old boy who's uncomfortable in your sexuality, seeing romance between men being depicted as OK is going to be helpful. It doesn't matter whether the actors are straight or not. Furthermore yhe examples in the OP aren't gay roles (IDK about teenwoff), they're either straight or ambiguous roles where the characters have powerful romantic chemistry. This is actually reflective of many friendships that lots of guys are otherwise made to feel uncomfortable about.

Quote:
queer baiting (or queerbaiting) is a term used to describe the perceived attempt by canon creators (typically of television shows) to woo queer fans and/or slash fans, but with no intention of actually showing a gay relationship being consummated on screen.
Is there more than one meaning of queerbaiting? Sorry, I'm new to all of this.
It depends if the trade-off is fair. If only the hetero benefits from it then no. Like if it's something like Nick Jonas "I wouldn't completely rule out gay sex wink wink" when it's really a lie or Tyler Posey "I'm gayyyy :P" just to get the gay's hopes up
But if it's 2 heteros kissing or ****ing then yas gaga
No. I will never forgive Jeff Davis for what he did with Sterek. The fact he's gay and was on MTV out of all networks still pisses me off how he treated the fans.
