His concerns are valid, sure but I honestly prefer a chance on a new battling format than sticking with the generic gym/team one that we've had since Gen 1. (Although I can't see them not having an antagonistic team). And without more information, it's just kinda silly to complain about how it'll actually develop overall (but then again, Gamefreak tends to be disingenuous).

Plus are any of you really surprised that Gamefreak adopts the casual approach? Hardcore gamers aren't the be-all, end-all support that's necessary to their success. Some of it, but not all of it.

but its not about the evil team is about having a purpose in the game and a long playthrough... something 8 gym leaders, 4 elite, a champion and an evil team guarantee

And i truly believe that hardcore stans are what makes each pkmn era sucessfull! otherwise PKMN would have had at least a flop era! i know i am not the only one who follows pkmn ever since my first game and i buy new consoles mostly for it!

I'm sure there will be some type of evil team or several antagonists at least. I would be worried if not cause they've always taken up a good chunk of the storyline. Maybe have a resurgence of Team Rocket automatically linking Alola to Kanto? Then use S.S. Anne to go to Kanto to investigate further. Yassss.

It's Pokemons 20th anniversary.. I highly doubt they will give us the shortest Pokemon game ever.

One of the leaks said that Lillie was the daughter of the villain team's leader who wanted to open a resort or something along those lines . I don't remember which one, but that could be a good plot that involves Zygarde.

First two are granted. I'm not really trying to derail those concerns since like I said, Gamefreak can come off as disingenuous most of the time (like introducing the keys in Gen 5 for easier/harder difficulty and then abruptly abandoning that idea in Gen 6 onwards). I'm just advocating for more information first before we start blasting Gamefreak a few new holes for half assing the gen (as per their usual M.O.).

Is it, really? I said some of the success, but not all of it. Fire Emblem is one of those series that aims at specific audiences (and is successful at it) in comparison to Pokémon that's aimed at everyone generally. I can see why Gamefreak does the casual approach simply because of the easier access and name brand; not that I think it's the right approach (alienating your core followers with each succeedingly easier generation post 5). Heck, I think they even commented on that once.

I just traded with my friend online as I'm 6 Pokemon off completing the National Dex in AlphaSapphire and he was helping me out. As a joke I traded my (luckily spare) Kyurem as I was returning the Goodra he was giving to me straight after. My wifi has been playing up all day and during the trade we get a different error message to the several we had before. This time we had to turn off the power on our 3DS' and start the game again.

We were a bit confused but thought nothing of it. I go back on and he trades me Goodra again and I trade for Lickitung this time. Then I notice, the same Goodra is in the box where Kyurem was. So I managed to clone my friend's precious Goodra.. Which is cool as I've never done a glitch like that before, especially as it was accidental.

But I'm so ****ing pressed my Kyurem is lost forever and it couldn't have been some crappy Pokemon.

That sucks. At the very least, be glad it was a spare. If I lost a legendary like that, and it was my only one, I'd quit.
