Students volunteer for drug test; fail

Two Taranaki welding students were suspended from practical classes for two weeks after failing a drug test for which they volunteered.
Duncan was at the polytechnic to give a talk on the risks of drugs in the workforce.
After giving the talk she asked for two volunteers to complete a drug test, and the two students put up their hands.
However, their tests came back positive for an undisclosed substance.
"I don't think they'll volunteer again," she said.
