Should the American President be a natural born American? What if they came to America as a child, and it's all they've ever known, but they were technically born elsewhere for whatever reason? What if they were born in America, but lived much of the life and upbringing abroad?
I'm not sure I think it's entirely necessary, though I can see why it's a requirement given when that policy was first enacted.
In response to your question about them coming here as a child, then what could possibly be the rationale for preventing them from holding this or any elected office? In response to your final question, those people are already eligible and that serves to reinforce the idea that more people should, in fact, be eligible.
Any american can be president as long as long as they were a us citizen for 14 years.
Arnold Schwarzagnaeggrr became govenor of california but can't run for president.
*Lived in America for 14 years. They have to be natural born tho. So someone could be born in Indiana and moved to Australia at one. They can only run for POTUS if they move back and stay in the US for 14 years.

To answer OP, yes should be BORN in America. No immigrants.
I think so, yes. Not to say that naturalized citizens can't be patriotic, but there's usually something different between the patriotism of being born and raised on U.S. soil versus someone who originates from another country.
