In the Demi Era the radio stations played even the fourth single of the album. In Confident they didn't played it's third single even to cross the 10M mark.
And i didn't even talked about all the UK promo in the past era, to her come with Confident and flop there.
Cool For The Summer spending two weeks at #11 is kinda better than HA spending one week at #10.

As for the UK thing, she kinda flopped here, but Cool For The Summer was the only single properly released here, so that was kinda inevitable.
Remember music business is composed from: album sales, single sales, streaming, radio plays, music endorsements and touring. Demi album sales were lackluster this era, but her single performance was fine in terms of radio, streaming and sales and she can still tour arenas and has some endorsements. I don't agree that Nick and DNCE are close to Selena's level at this moment tho.

She went from a 7m debut album to 600k in the third. Lana is an album artist and UV and Honeymoon barely outsold DEMI and Confident. UV sold 1.4m and DEMI +1.1m, Honeymoon sold +600k and Confident +535k.
And in the singles department Demi "demolishes" Lana, same in radio, tour, media presence, youtube, etc.
Nick's latest album hasn't even sold 75k in the US yet. DNCE have yet to release an album (I love them).
Demi's decrease was hard though. This is literally more of an article about lower tier (on the high end) artists and one middle tier artist that is on the verge of falling, Selena. Kill Em With Kindness proved that radio is only willing to play trash to a certain point.
Honestly, I think the last HUGE stars to come from Disney will be Hilary Duff and Miley Cyrus tbh. Selling out an entire arena tour with no ticket discounts was super easy for them, and debuting #1 with over 200K was also easy for them.
So I'd definitely agree, Demil, Selena, and especially Nick are mid level popstars, kinda trendy as well however I think Selena would last longer for some reason.

Yes, because Demi was coming from a good era in the UK and CFTS had pre-orders. But GFY and HTM outsold it and Selena has sold more than 1M of records in the UK this era.

CFTS is Demi's biggest hit on radio (a lot bigger than Heart Attack). And their sales can't be compared because of the huge decline in sales by the time CFTS was released. In 2013 CFTS could have been on par with HA sales.
DNCE have yet to release an album (I love them).
