From an outside perspective, what does English sound like compared to other languages? Is it choppy/harsh sounding, etc.?

A little less harsh than German and Dutch but as a Germanic language it does have a little bit of that harshness tbh

I speak English only and it sounds like ish ish dup hog and nip nip if en en Na poss uf uf sag lot log me me. Trashy language. The US should ban it and use Ladin or Romansch instead.

it sounds so good if we're talking american english, like it sounds so nice and stuffs like really cool, but british english is tragic! it's honestly the worst I've ever heard no offense

I like it because it's extremely simple in comparison to the other languages I can speak.

This is an interesting topic, never really thought about it.

I'm bicultural: french culture and my household culture. In the latter, being able to speak english is seen as a sign of success (something to do with colonization) so this gotta have influenced my perceptions.

So I always thought that english sounded "classy" (?) and easy; but I never really liked the rhythmic of it, it sounded way too choppy for me and I overall prefered French and my mother tongue as they sounded more "flowy".

Now it just sounds like any other languages to me.


edit: And also totally agree with Ben Ili down below. English is not a very passionate language. On this point: Romance language > English.

it sounds a bit basic. It does not sound bad, nor scary, nor like an "angry" language, but it does not sound poetic or passionate either.
