This study sucks ass. The issue with studies like this (and this article fails to mention it) is that they poorly represent the idea of vegetarianism (let alone veganism) from a data perspective.
This study lumped individuals that only eat fish as a meat source and individuals that only occasionally eat meat as vegetarians/vegans.
Quote:
For some analyses, the 4 vegetarian categories (vegan, lacto-ovo–vegetarian, pesco-vegetarian, and semi-vegetarian) were combined as “vegetarian.”

I hope I don't have to break down exactly as to how this delegitimizes the actual "findings" of this studies in terms of the benefits of veganism. But, in a nutshell, this means that vegans live 12% longer than excessive meat eaters, which isn't a good argument to be a vegan, only a good argument for moderate meat consumption (particularly of red meats).
Pick a better study next time.
