Matilda is a 1996 American fantasy comedy film directed and co-produced by Danny DeVito, co-produced by Michael Shamberg, Stacey Sher, and Liccy Dahl, and written by Nicholas Kazan and Robin Swicord, based on Roald Dahl's novel of the same name. It stars Mara Wilson, DeVito, Rhea Perlman, Embeth Davidtz, and Pam Ferris.
The film revolves around an 8-year-old genius named Matilda, who possesses telekinesis, and uses it to deal with her parents who don't value education and Agatha Trunchbull, the oppressive leader of Crunchem Elementary Hall.
this was my favorite movie as a kid. cant believe it has been 20 years I think the girl who played matilda as she got older didn't like the industry and stopped acting after a few more films.
