5H and LM are both so lackluster. We need a girl group with fierce attitude, distinctly different personalities, BIG voices, killer choreo (not lazy off-rhythm stripper moves) and anthemic songs (not just tryhard sex songs with rent a rapper).
They were put together just like 1D, magic was there and it luckily worked. If they're trying to make a manufactured, packaged, overly rehearsed girl band I don't think it's going to work. One of the main reasons 5H has beat the odds is because the fans love their individual personalities and flares.
1D worked since they are a teen phenomenon loved by HUGE groups of girls and kids.
A female 1D would mean a non-choreo/performance based girlgroup who has to deliver vocally, I assume? I am not sure how that would work, but we'll see.
Simon already has Little Mix and is 'partly' responsible for Fifth Harmony. Both these groups cover a lot of the things that girlgroups stand for. I dont think the 1D formula of walking and jumping around the stage and being fun and serve some hand movements would work to convince people. Maybe a female 5 Seconds Of Summer would be interesting with being a compromise between a group and a band.
