He sent those gifts as the Joker, to get even more into the character. He also wrote the cast members poems, sent Deadshot a briefcase full of bullets. He also spend very little - almost no - time with the rest of the crew, because he did not want them to know what he is like. He only wanted them to know him as the Joker, he wanted to be separated from them, so he can deliver an even better performance. He is a very committed actor, it's crazy!

So annoying He'll never be better than Heath Ledger and the sooner he accepts that the better his delivery will be.
