Can anybody explain what Roanoke and Croatoan are for a non-american?
If I remember my history correctly, Roanoke was a former British colony on the coast of the Carolinas founded in the 1500's. Like a lot of the other initial colonies in the New World, Roanoke struggled surviving and then the colonists vanished. The word "Croatoan" was etched onto a tree or something and it was the only hint as to what happened to the colonists.
I'm guessing they'll be focusing on the people who may still live in it? Maybe it's amish themed? FX's CEO said the story will be based on the present.

They won't be revealing it until the premiere. If they planned to release the theme before the premiere, they should've included it in the teasers. Is that too hard to understand?
