“But I guess he read about Harry’s deal and thought we weren’t interested.
“My impression was that he wasn’t in any hurry to make a record because he discussed this last year. He was more into songwriting.
“I was teasing him saying: ‘If you come up with a great song Liam make sure it is for you and don’t give it away. When you’re ready I am ready.’
“So I was a bit surprised. Of course there is a part of you that goes: ‘Maybe we should have had the conversation.’ That maybe is my fault but it has happened now.”

“I like Niall a lot, have always got on with him, he is a great kid. I am confident he will sign with Syco.”

LMFAO, it sounds more like Simon wanted Liam to do more songwriting. If he wanted him to release his music he most definitely would Not "miss" or "forget" to have the conversation... haha.
Liam signed with the right people, who will take care of him & focus on him not on 4 other guys.
Simon's definitely pressed.

Liam might end up being the Robbie Williams of the group so Simon really missed out tbh! Liam seems to be the one who will bring in the most money because he will transform into a brand now that he is with Capitol and with David Beckham's management team lol

The only reason why he is annoyed is because Liam is now able to ruin a potential 1D reunion.
The other guys are 'close' to him or atleast with Sony related labels, which means that if the solo attempts by the majorty of the guys would underperform in a x amount of time or whatever, Simon would be able to some extend 'force' them back into a 1D comeback/reunion.

Liam now switched to a complete different label group and Simon/Syco has no influence on Liam's careerpath because of it. I am very curious to see how all their solo efforts will turn out, since I imagine Liam to have to some extend a little more freedom to develop himself as artist than the other 3.

Liam is definitely going to be huge outside of 1D.
He's definitely a celebrity, not just a member of 1D.
Also the girls and the gays[especially] go gaga on him. Also his relationship with Cheryl elevated him even more in the press.
His label & new team ARE better than what the other guys have[PSyCo] so he is definitely coming...

And he's also writing his own stuff and has got the biggest voice, which is always a plus. lol.
