Rise is just bad. And the Witness demo that leaked is/was a step in the right direction for Katy.
As for Britney, other than her fans, people are just not checking for her musically anymore. And I echo the sentiments of a few posters who said they keep trying to pander to kids. They both need to move on with their sound. Rihanna has managed to do that with ANTI.
